D.I.A. (Documentation et Informations Africaines) is a Catholic Press Agency - the only one in Africa - founded in January 1957. The owner is the Episcopal Conference of the Congo. During the first 25 year of existence, D.I.A. was under the responsibility of the Scheut Missionaires, and then in 1983 it was put under the direction of the Society of Jesus.
In more than 40 years of existence, D.I.A. has contributed in making known to the world the cultural, ecclesial, political and socio-economic realities of Africa in general and of the Congo in particular. Since 1991, it has made a clear option for the promotion of justice, and for the conscientization of the African people to the effort for the building of truly human and democratic societies, in a specifically Christian perspective.
D.I.A. (Documentation et Informations Africaines), est une agence catholique de presse - la seule en Afrique - fondée en janvier 1957. Propriété de la Conférence Episcopale du Congo, l'Agence fut dirigée pendant vingt-cinq ans par les Missionaires de Scheut, avant d'être confiée à la gestion de la Compagnie de Jésus, en 1983.
En 40 ans d'existence, l'Agence D.I.A. a contribué à faire connaître au monde les réalités culturelles, ecclésiales, politiques et socio-économiques de l'Afrique en général et du Congo en particulier. Depuis 1991, elle a pris une option claire pour la promotion de la justice, pour la conscientisation des peuples africains à l'effort de construction des sociétés vraiment humaines et démocratiques, dans une perspective spécifiquement chrétienne.
D.I.A. (Documentation et Informations Africaines) è un'agenzia di stampa cattolica - l'unica in Africa - fondata nel gennaio del 1957. È di proprietà della Conferenza Episcopale del Congo. Per i primi 25 anni di vita fu diretta dai Missionari di Scheut, per poi essere affidata alla Compagnia di Gesù nel 1983.
Nei suoi oltre 40 anni di esistenza, D.I.A. ha contribuito a far conoscere al mondo le realtà culturali, ecclesiali, politiche e socio-economiche dell'Africa in genere e del Congo in particolare. Dal 1991 ha fatto una chiara opzione per la promozione della giustizia e per la coscientizzazione dei popoli africani allo sforzo di costruzione di società veramente umane e democratiche, in una prospettiva specificatamente cristiana.
