SEPARATION

I could have written to you
a letter with long verses
but each time I hold my pen, words and ideas evaporate.

I know it's unfair not to return communication,
but with you I am short of words,
for we never really shared anything
except conflicts, disapproval and criticism.

Now that we are far apart,
can we dream of the closeness
we never had between each other
and pretend the old days were good?

I wish I could do so
but I can't live a lie.
So I will send you an empty page
for we had great nothingness together.
