Mr. Vidanovic,

I found your posts on the peacelink site only few days ago.
Now I read them every day.
First of all I wanted to thank you because your words witness what any TV
can’t (?) show that’s what war means in the everyday life. I’d like that
here we was compelled to see and feel (not on TV with a sad musical
background but with the embarassing silence of the truth) what you , your
family and whole serbian people are living. Maybe it would convince us to
stop these cruelities!

I'm an italian boy. I'm 25 , Adam is not my real name, and until now I have
never spoken with a serbian univesitary professor…

To be honest… Mr. Vidanovic...I don't know the History and I’m very far from
politic world…Onl lately I knew something about Kosovo history but Anyway
the same I wanted to tell my opinion basing it on what I saw and read.

I don't think It's necessary to have a superior Intelligent Quotient and
have a couple of degrees (and when I look at what Mr. Mark Hamlin wrote to
you…I convince more and more how unuseful degrees can be) to understand
that what is happening in your Country…and in the world leaders minds is a
pure madness.

We are missing the meaning of the words…of the things…the meaning of the
life.

I thought wars were so far from my life…only black and white images of a
movie…and instead…now I’m writing to a man whom…my democratic and pacific
Country…is giving a daily dose of bombs and fear…

I perfectly agree with you about the illegality and illegittimity of NATO
attacks.

They (…unfortunately I must say WE) are tearing up all the International
laws but above all, what is worse, every day concretely they are violating
human rights committing atrocities not differently from Police Serbian
troops or UCK one. We are only hitting serbian people and not Milosevic.
This is a fact.
Nobody in the world can name "mistake" what is murder! No killing can be
named "collateral effect". No abusrd “apologize” for that can be accepted
if it is not useful to stop all.

But I don’t want to give to you a wrong image of what I think.
I read (and unfortunately saw too) on the Amnesty international site
(www.amnesty.org and in particular
www.amnesty.org\ailib\intcam\kosovo\indx_docs.htm ) what serbian police and
Milsoevic Government have been doing or al least permitting it to occur
against ethinc albanian people and not only now but for about 10 years ! If
Amnesty International says lies…I can’t know it…I’m not a judge…but can we
deny the evidence?!
.
.
.
When I show my hate and refuse of any war people stop me and ask: “Everybody
refuses the War but How would you stop a criminal? With words of peace?
With some flowers?”. I can’t answer. This is the truth. I no longer know
anything and have no answers before human madness. What I Know is only that
tomorrow, in the RFY, other men will die because other men want that.

I read about your cat…I'm very sorry that Ljubitsa lost its 'gattino' (how
can I say it in serbian?). Reading your posts I could perfectly image the
expression of its face in these days…before smiling and then crying. But I’
ve just read that a little white cat is born! Wow! What is its name?

Just as I’m writing a little bird landed on my balcony. Usually, as you go
near, birds frighten and fly away but this one seems very happy to be
observed on its work or, more likely, he was too much engaged to worry about
me. It’s surely preparing a nest for its young. It tears a piece of little
branch from the plant on the balcony then flies…makes a part of its
brickwork then flies again…and return to continue …ops…now a twig is gone
down from its mouth and flied far away…but the little bird doesn’t seem to
be worry…there are a lot of twigs in that plant…and this is its life
Well... to say the truth I'm not porperly what you can name "an animal
lover"...I mean... They somehow “frightened” me...I don't like be licked,
nibbled and so on...in few words cats and dogs couldn't tolerate me for
more than a day :)

But I like observe them while leading free their lives.Sometimes with Walt
Whitman “I think I could turn and live with animals, they’re so placid and
self-contain’d. I stand and look at them long and long…”
Animals are better than men or at least they live better.

Sincerely

Adam
