Tuesday, 27 April: (8:54 p.m.) Dear Sabrina, I have just seen the little town of Surdulica, south of Nis, bombed. The bombing took place at noon (!!) and the missiles hit the centre of the town, destroying several houses and killing at least ten people. The Nis TV5 station sent their reporter there and we were able to see one of the survivors, badly wounded, lying in a hospital bed, telling about his family who had all been killed only hours ago. So ten dead, more buried in the rubble. By the way, I know the reporter personally, he is not a person to lie. Terrible. At the same time they blew up the waterworks in Surdulica. I don't know if you have heard about it, but the Novi Sad (300,000) waterworks was hit too, so all those people have no water now... This list of monstrosities is mounting. Have to go now. The Cat (its name is Ljubitsa, meaning The Loved One) is *about* to give birth to kittens, she's cuddly and purring all the time, and checking up on the several places where she could go to after getting the labours...:)) I hope the monsters won't come, at least tonight. Love to you and the family, Djordje ------- Tuesday, 27 April (9:12 p.m.) Dear Sabrina, I am at the computer this minute and thought it would be nice to reply right away. No, she hasn't given birth to the little ones yet... but we think she is about to... I forgot to tell you that the Surdulica attack at noon today resulted in at least 100 (!) houses burnt to the ground. Nice work. I am praying for peace. I just wish to be able to write to you leisurely, taking my time and being myself. You know: I don't think that I've been myself for quite some time now. Love, Djordje
