Tuesday, 4 May 1999 (5:58 p.m.) Dear Sabrina, Shortly, I have got the messages and wish to thank Barbara, Paolo and Graziella. I know that their wishes are sincere and arise from true feelings. We may have a limited power supply problem, thus your messages could bounce back. I only hope that NATO are not going for our electric power supply system as you can imagine the problems with the newly-born, elderly and the sick that we are having. Then the lifts in hospitals where you have the immobile, lifts in high-rise buildings, lack of power in the bakeries, everywhere. I've been saying all along that this is a punitive expedition against one people, and it really is. They say that Serbs get what they deserve because they are willing executioners of Mr. Milosevic's by their tacit acceptance of his decisions, but how about the West, the USA or Italy for that matter: was John Doe or Mario Marinelli (have no idea what the man-in-the-street would be in Italian) ever asked about bombing Serbia, Vietnam, Korea, Grenada, etc. Was this hypothetical guy in your country ever asked about breaching the Constitution? Does he have any say on D'Alema's decisions? Well, the same is here. Once your politicians are elected they rule, and that's it. Anyway, lots of love to you. I am beside myself with joy to be able to contact you people like this, through the Net. Hope they (this 'they' has become ominous, right?) do not take the Net away. I hear that they will try to hit the power supply all over Serbia again... They hit another bus yesterday and killed 40 people. Just heard it on the news, as we did not have any electricity for 36 hours! Love and a big hug, Djordje
