Dear Sabrina,

This was a surprise, indeed.  Emilija used to be a student of mine, she's
married to an Italian I believe.  She writes about the grief, possibility
of helping people here and about her reluctance to call home as she's
afraid what she will hear and has no answers to questions of the type 'When
will they stop bombing us?', 'When will all this end?'. She says that in
Italy people think that NATO is bombing only buildings and bridges, and
that NATO briefings never mention more than 1,000 people killed so far...
Emilija lives in Arezzo.  At the end she's asking what can be done to help.
