Sunday, 23 May 1999 (11:45 a.m.) Dearest Sabrina, I've just found out: Belgrade is without electricity! More than 2 million people have been cut off by NATO. Can you imagine: as Belgrade is situated on the hills, electricity is needed for water supply, so more than two million people are without water now. What did NATO do this morning, while the West was sleeping and its reporters playing golf: they used 'classical' bombs to hit another big thermoelectric plant, the one in Obrenovac, to cut off Belgrade's electrical power supply. Now, this is pure genocide. There is no other word to describe the situation. I do hope that we'll be in touch by phone at least. For the time being I am thankful for this little trickle operating at much less than 220 volts... Love, Djordje
