Wednesday, 26 May 1999 (8:40 p.m.) Dearest Sabrina, This is sheer desperation. The conditions we live in now are terrible. Takes a lot of words to describe. One little detail: Snezana and I were in the street, enjoying the breeze outside, but much too worried about everything and then we saw the lights coming on. I shouted, exilerated, "Light!!" and started smiling, gloriously happy. Snezana did the same, and hand in hand we walked back home. All happy. No cigarettes, and if a kiosk gets some, long lines fifty meters long. No milk, again queues, the same applies even to bread, as the bakeries do not have electricity all the time and have decreased their daily output by at least fifty percent. Basta to all this. We shall survive and see you and talk with you and tell stories each other. Love to you and yours, Djordje, Snezana and Alexandra
